got a call from the hospital. the consultant rheumatologist is seeing me on next thurs, 8.30am before clinic starts.

not really sure what to say to him because i am feeling upset about things but need some clarification on where things stand, where they are now and where we are going.

any tips of what to say/ ask about please- obviously a planned admission date.

Thank goodness someone is listening at last Jenni. Can't advise what to ask but do think you should pack 'red boots' just in case. How is everyone after the tummy bug? Hope things are settling down for everyone.

Don't know about the others, Julie, but I'm sort of emerging from it now! Thanks for asking.

I'm so glad you've got an appointment at last Jenni.
Make sure they have written in your notes everything that happened when you had the Toc... drug (can't remember the name.
Also, try to get them to liaise with the endocrinologist.
Good luck with it.

Dear Jenni,

So glad youve got an appointment, Im not sure what Id say in your position except that Id be wanting a care plan for the coming six months at least... with, what if this happens actions.

I would also want closer follow up appoinments, weeks rather than months..there is nothing worse than developing a new health problem and not being seen until its either too late or its cleared up.

Good luck with your appointment,

Ellie x

Good news Jenni. Can't think of anything to ask, but Ellie's ideas seem good.

Hapy new year- let's hope it brings you some answers and the support you deserve.

right

* Care plan

* regular appointments

* multi-disciplinary meeting

* planned admission

the other thing I am going to ask for I think is a full assessment of the state of play as things are now - prob as part of admission.
Also to see about the surgical options.

i did smile a bit, when in hosp, there was an elderly gent who was admitted following an infection for "intensive physio for poor mobility".

WHY do we never get NEAR this as RA Patients?

WHY in all these yrs has NO professional ever asked how I manage at home before discharge. I know there are problems with elderly care but tbh, I think that it is the under 80s who get shoddy treatment. I know all about the bed blocking problems with elderly patients- but at least they are on a bed in the first place to block it!

Little rant there!

Love

Jenni xx

Your points are good ones. You will need a low threshold for hospital admissions and by-monthly appointments.

Love,
